Adding a temporary notice

Table of Contents

Temporary notices allow you to quickly alert listeners about changes, closures, or disruptions that affect your tour without needing to update and republish the entire tour. These notices appear prominently on your tour’s page in both the VoiceMap app and website.

We use temporary notices when:

  • A location or attraction on your tour is temporarily closed
  • Access to part of your route is temporarily restricted or altered
  • There’s a significant temporary change that affects the tour experience
  • You need time to prepare a permanent update to your tour content

Temporary notices work well for both brief disruptions (such as a single-day event) and longer-term changes (such as seasonal closures or renovation projects) until you can implement permanent updates to your tour. When writing your notice, be clear about exactly what’s affected, suggest workarounds if available, and mention relevant dates to help listeners plan accordingly.

Adding a Temporary Notice #

  1. Log in to your publisher dashboard
  2. Navigate to “Your Tours”
  3. Find the tour that needs a notice and click on “Distribution”
  4. Select “Temporary notice”
  5. Write a clear, concise message about the change or disruption
  6. Set the display period (notices automatically expire after 90 days)
  7. Submit for review

Your editor will review the notice and you’ll receive an email notification once it’s published. The notice will be automatically archived when the display period ends but if you need to remove it before then, you can archive it at the bottom of the temporary notices page.

For permanent changes or major disruptions, consider updating your tour content or creating an alternative route.
