Your VoiceMap tour is sold at voicemap.me, and within our mobile apps. We use the iTunes App Store’s pricing tiers, denominated in US dollars. You can select any price between $5.99 and $29.99. To understand how we calculate royalties, take a look at a sample report.
You can add a price through the tour’s distribution tab, which you’ll find on your publisher dashboard.
- Open your publisher dashboard and scroll down to the bottom of the page
- Find the relevant tour in the Your Tours section (here you’ll see all the tours you’ve created)
- Under Manage Tour on the right, click the “Edit tour” button (this will take you to your tour in Mapmaker)
- Click on “Distribution” on the right of your screen
- The price tab will open automatically, but you can also access other distribution tools here (like your QT codes and featured location)
- Choose the relevant price from the dropdown menu
- Click save
When you choose a price, think about your target audience. Where is your route going to be used? You can probably charge more in London than you can in Cape Town.
Consider keeping your price lower if it’s a general tour with a wide audience or if it has a lot of competition. Have a look online to see how many guided and self-guided tours are in the area, not just VoiceMap tours. Keeping the price low is generally a good idea when there is more competition, because you’ll sell more copies. If your tour has a narrow but passionate target audience, consider choosing a higher price.
Adjusting your tour price after it’s been published
You can always adjust your tour price to fit seasonal fluctuations, or as part of an annual update. When you update the price through your distribution tab, we’ll automatically update it across all our reseller networks.
You can only change the price once every 30 days. If you are on the Pro or Premium plan and you’d like to make your tour free, please contact your editor – or send an email to [email protected].
